Rising Medical Technologies is a trusted supplier of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) systems to private hospitals, diagnostic imaging centres, and specialist clinics across the World. MRI procurement is one of the most complex equipment projects a healthcare facility can undertake — and we exist to make that process straightforward, transparent, and stress-free.
We supply closed MRI and open MRI Permanent Magnet systems, from the world's leading manufacturers: Siemens Healthineers, GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, and Canon Medical Systems. Our refurbished MRI systems are fully reconditioned and come with a documented service history and warranty.
Complete MRI Room Build — What We Deliver
Installing an MRI scanner is far more involved than placing a piece of equipment in a room. The magnetic field, radiofrequency signals, and cryogenic systems all require specialist infrastructure. Rising Medical Technologies manages every element:
· RF (radiofrequency) cage design and installation — preventing interference with and from surrounding electrical equipment
· Magnetic shielding — passive or active shimming solutions to contain the magnetic field within safe boundaries
· Cryogen (liquid helium) management — initial fill, ongoing monitoring and refill planning
· Quench pipe installation and ventilation — essential safety infrastructure for magnet quench events
· Specialist flooring, wall lining and door systems — to meet MRI safety zone requirements
· Equipment delivery using specialist transport — MRI magnets require careful handling and dedicated logistics
· Ramping and commissioning — field shimming, gradient calibration, and system acceptance testing
· PACS and RIS integration — connecting your MRI to your radiology information systems
· Radiographer and clinical staff training
MRI Systems We Supply
· 1.5T closed-bore MRI — the standard for most clinical applications including brain, spine, MSK, abdomen and pelvis
· 3T MRI — for neurological, cardiac, and research applications requiring higher resolution and faster acquisition
· Wide-bore MRI (70 cm bore) — increased patient comfort, particularly for bariatric and claustrophobic patients
· Open MRI (0.3T–0.4T) — for patients unable to tolerate a closed bore; also used in intraoperative settings
Why Work With Rising Medical Technologies?
· Deep technical expertise — our engineers have hands-on experience with Siemens, GE, Hitachi and Philips MRI platforms
· Full project management — from planning permission advice to final handover
· Independent advice — we source the right system for your clinical needs, not the easiest to sell
· Competitive pricing — access to global equipment markets means significant savings on refurbished systems
· Post-installation support — preventive maintenance contracts, helpdesk support and emergency call-out

MRI costs depend on field strength, bore size, age of the system, and installation complexity. A refurbished 1.5T system fully installed typically ranges from £200,000 to £500,000. Open MRI 0.35T system starts from £100,000 . We provide a full project cost breakdown including all civil works, so there are no surprises.
-
MRI projects are typically 16–26 weeks from order to clinical go-live. The timeline depends primarily on shipping, the civil works scope (new build vs. existing room adaptation) and equipment availability. We provide a detailed Gantt chart at project kick-off.
-
Yes. When replacing an existing MRI system, we manage the full decommissioning and removal of the old magnet, including cryogen management and magnet quench where necessary. This is included in our project scope.
-
Yes, with appropriate structural engineering. We assess weight loading, vibration isolation, and access routes as part of our site survey. We have successfully completed MRI installations across a range of challenging building environments.
